What size AIRCAP 1™ fits your Riptide Spas hot tub?
Riptide Spas is a British brand, and like most British and European makers it specifies in centimetres. Twelve of its hot tubs are square and fit an AIRCAP 1™, across all three ranges — the Infinity series, the Family series and the Fun spas. The whole range is built on just three square footprints, which makes matching a cover unusually simple once you know which one you have.
Here is how the 12 Riptide Spas models in our fitter map to AIRCAP 1™ sizes:
- The Family 360, Family 370, Infinity 330 and FUN FOR 6 are 200 cm square and each take the AIRCAP 1™ XX-Small, which fits square spas 77–79".
- The Family 530, Family 570, Infinity 530, Infinity 560 and FUN FOR 5 are 212 cm square and each take the AIRCAP 1™ Small, which fits square spas 83–85".
- The Family 760, Infinity 730 and Infinity 770 are 230 cm square and each take the AIRCAP 1™ Large, which fits square spas 89–91".
If you own a 212 cm model, measure the rim rather than the cabinet. This is the one place a Riptide can be mis-sized. The published 212 cm is the acrylic rim, which is 83.5" and takes the Small. The cabinet beneath it is about an inch narrower, roughly 82.7", because the rim overhangs it slightly on every side. Run a tape around the cabinet and you may read 82" and reach for an X-Small, which would be a size too small. Measure across the top, at the widest point, which is what the AIRCAP 1™ sits on.
Riptide uses a factory code alongside the model name, and it is worth knowing. The Family series is HCA, the Infinity series is HEA and the Fun spas are HFA — so an HCA 530 is a Family 530 and an HEA 730 is an Infinity 730. An S on the end (HCA 360S) marks a trim level, not a different shell, and the Infinity 830 is also sold as the 830T. If the label in your equipment bay carries one of those codes rather than a name, match the number.
Every AIRCAP 1™ ships with the Ziptech™ modular skirt system, so you can zip on the right skirt depth for your cabinet instead of ordering a custom cover.
Riptide models the AIRCAP 1™ does not fit. The Family 160, Infinity 170 and FUN FOR 3 share a 200 × 164 cm shell, which is a rectangle rather than a square, and the Infinity 830 is 300 × 230 cm. The commercial IDS range is out for two separate reasons worth spelling out: the IDS 710, IDS 510S and IDS 310S are round — their specifications read Φ230, Φ215 and Φ198, where Φ means diameter, not a footprint — and a square cover cannot replace a round one. The IDS 730 genuinely is square at 240 cm, but that is 94.5", just past our 94" maximum. Riptide's swim spas, the Easy Life, Aqua Life, Atlantis, Atlas and Whitehaven ranges, are long rectangles and out of scope. The AIRCAP 1™ is built for square cabinets from 77 to 94 inches.
