American Spas is the big-box hot tub line from Lloyd's Material Supply Company — the Pomona, California manufacturer behind Cal Spas, another brand in our Spa Fitter — and it has been a Home Depot staple for years, so there are a lot of these square shells on patios. All nine current models fit an AIRCAP 1™.
Here is how the 9 American Spas models in our fitter map to AIRCAP 1™ sizes:
- Eight of the nine — the AMZ740B, AMZ740L, AMZ745B, AMZ745L, AMZ756B, AMZ756L, AMZ772L and AMZ772B — share one 84" x 84" shell (B is the bench layout, L the lounger; the jet counts differ, the footprint doesn't). Each takes the AIRCAP 1™ Small, which fits square spas 83–85".
- The dual-voltage AMZ618L measures 78" x 78" and takes the AIRCAP 1™ XX-Small, which fits square spas 77–79".
A data note on the AMZ618L: American Spas' own product page currently shows the 7-foot shell's spec table on this model (84" x 84", listing features the 618 doesn't have), while Home Depot's listing of the same tub — model AM618L — publishes 78" x 78" x 34" with a 340-gallon capacity that matches the tub's own numbers. We list the Home Depot figure. If you own one, two minutes with a tape measure settles it.
Own an earlier AM-series model from Home Depot? The 7-foot family has shared the same 84" x 84" square shell across generations: the AM-730 models, the Glory (AM-740LSi), the Freedom (AM-740BSi), the Aqua (AM-745LW) and the AM-756 family all measure 84" x 84" and take the same AIRCAP 1™ Small. Older models outside that family are not square, so the AIRCAP 1™ doesn't fit them: the AM-630 is a 78" x 84" rectangle, the AM-637 is 84" x 74", the AM-534 is 64" x 84", the AM-628 is a corner triangle, the AM-418 and AM-420 are 48" x 86" two-person spas, and the AM-511 is round.
